At the Aquazul Spa we feature the only true Temazcal in Los Cabos, the indigenous sweat lodge that has its origins in a Mayan ritual ceremony.  The Temazcal is the most pleasant expression of Mayan traditions in medicine, it consists of a steam bath based on hot stones and medicine plants inside an adobe igloo. It is known as a sacred act and its performed as part of a ceremonial rite where the basic 4 elements (earth, fire, water and air) are honored.
The Temazcal with its igloo shape, represents Mother Earth’s womb, and when you enter it through the door is like going back to the dark, humid and warm place that embraced and protected you in your conception. Coming out symbolizes your rebirth.
